2002-03-15 - 2:15 p.m. Fifth entry today: Found a really neat site: I didn’t know they had an IMAX film about Dolphins. This one I have to see!!!! Not playing near here yet … *clicks disappointedly* Lots of things are starting to make more sense. There is etiquette involved. You’re not supposed to approach dolphins directly – it’s considered aggressive. If you are to approach them, it should be at an oblique angle. Hmmmm. I see where that fits! Dolphins have no sense of smell. They make up for this with their highly sensitive tongues. They taste their environment. Dolphin skin is alive with receptors. Dolphins love to touch and be touched. Hmmm that explains some –other- things. As one scientist said, “They can’t keep their flippers to themselves!” *giggles* well, I’ve seldom had complaints about that … Dolphin use echolocation to “see” things like an X-ray. In other words, they see things that others animals can’t. Yes, that explains some things too. No wonder most people get uncomfortable when they realize how much I can see inside of them. It took a long time to realize that most people did not have this ability, and that I may not be as transparent as I feel. I can see inside of them, but they cannot see inside of me without significant help from me. Weird. Just finished one pile of work. Onto another. Splashing happily, ~dolphin
