Last night I talked to the upstairs neighbor (just talked). I had introduced my sister when she came over. I got the standard response from most men I introduce her to. “WOW. She’s really pretty.” And they all seem to keep repeating this, as if they’re telling me something new. As if I don’t already understand that she is beautiful in all the ways I am not. That’s not to say that we’re not both beautiful. We are – just in very different ways. We’re nearly diametric opposites. And we love and support each other absolutely and unconditionally. It’s pretty terrific. Anyway, garbage to the curb, a short walk, a clean bathroom, and a load of light colored laundry later, I turned into bed. Not horribly late either. It was so hard to tear myself out of bed this morning. Already have a running list in my mind. Lunchtime errands. My pillow is ready at White Lotus Futon, so I should go pick that up. And I think I’ll make the artichoke chicken for dinner – with salad. So trip to the supermarket as well. And I could stand to do another load of laundry (darks this time), but that can wait (though I should get the bras and panties that were air drying out of the doorway between the kitchen and the livingroom and fold the sheets and towels). I enjoyed this weekend at my parents’ house, but I came back to so much to do! Luckily I don’t quite have to move Heaven and Earth at work. Monday mail to contend with and the international intercompany wires have to go out this week, but other than that, it’s pretty quiet. Only 2 voice mails, both from early early this morning (same person, annoying as Hell – looking for her check. Unfortunately, it’s the one whose daughter is strikingly beautiful … and probably family, so I’d like to stay on good terms with her). Lunchtime already? Gotta go!
