OK, rant about work. Thursday was supposed to be the last day of closing. And I'm not supposed to really have to do anything for closing except my spreadsheets from hell - and as you know, I got those done *early* this month. So I walked in on Monday and they were still in closing. OK, not my problem. My shit is done. So I got caught up on my backlog of paperwork. Came in today to find that we're still in closing ... and the CFO is looking a little haggard. But because my shit was done, I got asked to go look some shit up ... largely because my supervisor didn't want to. I even remembered what the situation was and told him, and he wanted to see it anyway. Fine. He never follows up with things, so I'm not going to jump on it and knock myself out for it right now. OK, so it's done already, and brought in to him - without him asking. Right. And then I get massive project. Apparently at the beginning of the Fiscal Year (April 1), they added two new freight codes for outbound freight from our Wisconsin and Michigan locations. Except that they neglected to tell me - the one that codes the freight bills. (That would make too much sense.) And they hadn't noticed until this month (the third one, thus the end of the first quarter) that there was nothing in those accounts. Now I have to go back and audit the freight bills for the past 3 months. I've narrowed it down to 895 bills that have to be reclassed. But to do that, I have to physically look at each one to determine if it was from Wisconsin or Michigan - or as I'm finding out, was miscoded in the first place by the service we outsource them to. And it has to be compiled in the next half hour. Impossible but a lovely thought. *sigh*
