2003-07-28 - 9:46 a.m. You know, weekends that are really fabulous make Mondays feel like Hell. Among other things, I got to go to Torrid in the Garden State Plaza Mall. I love that store (the cute salesgirl that remembered both me and my child didn't hurt matters either). Apparently, there's now one at the Woodbridge Center Mall as well. When did that happen? Jenny would have loved one of the outfits I tried on. Short purple plaid skirt, black T-shirt with a Hello Kitty wearing the same Purple plaid skirt, and skulls on her belt and hairbow. (I guess you'd have to see it to believe it - a punk Hello Kitty). What I bought was a new pair of fishnet stockings (thigh-highs this time - and it's a more open weave than my last few pairs) and a black shirt that says in striped rainbow letters "I KISS GIRLS". As a matter of fact, Cat (the salesclerk) found me the last one in the store and brought it over, saying that she thought I might like it. Heh heh heh. Indeed. My son likes it too. He told me so many many times. And once again, I brought a fabulous woman in with me who had never experienced this store ("Who was the chick in the red shirt at your BBQ?" Yeah - that one *winks*). One of the fringe benefits of doing this is getting to see the fashion show - which was as good as I had hoped. There were many things this weekend that went better than I had hoped. And I've said it before and I'll say it again: anyone doing something that they're very good at and enjoy doing is sexy. Saw a lot of that this weekend. And I forgot how much I love Jeep Wranglers. 4 years and 2 months left until I can justify purchasing another one. (Children must be 8 years old or 80 pounds to no longer be in a car seat. Wranglers have big problems with car seats. My little guy has always been small for his age, so I'm fully expecting him to hit 8 years old before he weighs 80 pounds). But that doesn't mean that I can't drool over the Jeeps and the people driving them. And I got to go swimming in 2 different pools. Definitely need more regular access to water. And more exercise in general. My son was thoroughly spoiled this weekend with lots of attention from lots of different people ... but then again, so was I. OK, so I'm very tired and more than a little sunburnt, but the warmth that I still feel has nothing to do with the sunburn and everything to do with feeling really good about things. So I'll put on some more green goo and dive into the data entry, and I'll manage another week, this time with a genuine smile.
