2003-07-30 - 11:47 a.m. Mom called yesterday to tell me that my check came in. Yes, the one from the Feds giving me my child tax credit advance to the tune of $300. Money one isn’t counting on can be a very good thing. If I were responsible, I’d put it into savings and pretend it didn’t exist. If I were totally irresponsible, I’d go out shopping. If I were selfish, it would be for some new clothes for me and a few things for around the house. If I were selfless, I’d spend it all on my son (he’s the whole reason I’m getting the credit in the first place). So what am I going to do? I have no idea. Probably a little of everything. But this means that I will probably be going to visit my parents this weekend to pick up said check. And plans for some very special shopping on Monday after work.
