2003-08-03 - 2:03 a.m. Today was much better. Cashed the check from the Feds. Paid off a bill. Did some shopping. Got my little guy's hair cut - he looks so cute! Went SWIMMING!!! My son even jumped in from the side. Considering how seldom I've gotten him in the water, he did really really well. Total trust - it's amazing. But I have NEVER ever not been there to catch him. Dinner with my folks and a night out (for once). Wasn't sure if I should go to the local country bar or the Barnes & Noble ... but I wound up at the bar. You just don't get music like that in central Jersey. And there was a live band! No, I didn't dance, but 2 Long Island Iced eas and 2 Coronas and I was done for the night. Broke down and bought the new pack of smokes - and nearly finished the pack. You'd think that a single girl in a bar could find some company in a bar, but no. Though I couldn't help thinking what I might have done if I had a few people with me ... Was a good night altogether. I looked cute too. Short (no, the one that actually goes to my knees) black skirt and a white tank top (on sale for $7) with the new sandals and a necklace I picked up today (you can't go wrong for $2). Hair and makeup done. Mom was actually impressed. Tomorrow I'm traveling to see Jenny and her new place (that she's been in longer than I've been in mine - it's a trip that's loooooong overdue). Off to get some beauty sleep.
