2003-08-17 - 11:57 p.m. ok, one of the medications I'm taking is an antihistimine taken right before bed. Has an alcohol interaction warning. Fine - don't need to drink. The other (since I actually read every word of the inserts in the medications) is methylprednisonolone, USP, which is a glucocorticoid (an adrenocortical steriod) and has contraindications for pregnant women - especially early on in pregnancy (the package says that children born to mothers who have taken this during pregnancy should be watched closely for hypoadrenalism). Now, I'm not pregnant (at least not that I know of) but this is the first time that I haven't been asked repeatedly if I was certian that I wasn't. Of course it was also the first time I brought Jenny with me. Did the staff assume that we were partners? Hmmmmmm. This drug also has interesting possible side effects too: Psychic derrangements may appear when corticosteroids are used, ranging from euphoria, insomnia, mood swings, personality changes, severe depression, to frank psychotic manifestations. Also, existing emotional instability or psychotic tendencies may be aggravated by the corticosteriods. So if I'm nuts, it will show up more now??? Great. Glad it's only a 6 day course: 6 pills the first day, 5 the second ... Today was 4.
