So they moved us upstairs. I must say, the conditions are better. Besides the lack of mold smell and tightness in the chest, the air conditioning is on and the temperature and humidity are satisfactory. There’s a window – and I’m in an office, not a cube. I share the office with my counterpart here, who is post menopausal and actively complaining – she’s been here 27 years and apparently doesn’t like change. But I’m seeing this as quite an adventure. IT moved our computers but moving our files and stuff is “a union job” so we’re not allowed to move them ourselves (not that I’d want to up a flight of stairs – even I’m not that crazy). So we’re waiting for the maintenance crew to come and ask us what we need moved. Like that will even happen today. I’m headed downstairs to go fetch my recycle bin and my garbage can and my tension tamer tea from my overhead … so I can sit back and watch this all unfold. After lunch I will be going to the independent health center to be evaluated – chest x-rays, bloodwork, breathing test, the whole 9 yards. That should knock out a good part of my afternoon. And after work, I’m off to the allergist’s for scratch tests. Depending on the results of those, I may have to treat myself to something nice.
